Covering the villages of Wilsden and Harecroft
The Parish Council is working with the Police and Bradford Council in a number of ways to make our villages safer places in which to live. Although the level of crime within Wilsden and the surrounding areas is low compared to other parts of the country there are a number of areas where there are opportunities for improvement.

The main Police activity in Wilsden is co-ordinated through the Bingley Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT). More details of the NPT are given here.

We have an active group of volunteers who work with the Police and Community Support Officers in Community SpeedWatch. More details on the work of the team are given separately.

In May 2007 the Parish Council opened a Police and Community Contact Point at Wilsden Village Hall staffed by volunteers and regularly visited by the Police. More information on the Contact Point is given separately.

One of your parish councillors meets with the Police and representatives from Denholme, Cottingley, Cullingworth and Harden every 6 weeks to share local intelligence about anti-social behaviour and other low level criminal activity. This allows councillors to make a contribution towards how resources are deployed over the next few weeks, particularly when particular problems are being targeted. Although all the councillors attempt to keep themselves as well informed as possible we can only be fully effective if people contacts us about particular problems. Problems and concerns can be reported online here. THIS IS NOT FOR POLICE EMERGENCIES WHERE YOU SHOULD CALL 999. For non urgent issues you should call 0845 6060606 to report a specific crime and it would also be helpful if you can report details here, to a parish councillor or the Contact Point.

Also, the Neighbourhood Policing Team has a website with contact information:
