Initial Plan Development

On June 4th, 2014 Wilsden Parish Council submitted a formal application to Bradford Council to start the process to establish a Neighbourhood Plan for the parish council area. This was approved by Bradford Council on December 2nd, 2014.

A Working Group, involving both parish councillors and local residents, has been established and is meeting regularly. Details of Working Group meetings are available in the agendas and minutes section of the website.

The Parish Council has received financial support from the Government via a body called Locality and this has enabled us to employ a specialised planning consultant who will ensure that we develop a plan that complies with all legal and planning requirements as well as being based upon the wishes of the people of Wilsden and Harecroft.

The Neighbourhood Development Plan will not just consider housing but will also be able to look at the impact upon shops and other local businesses and how we can make Wilsden even more sustainable as a local community. We can look at how important it is for instance that we have local employment in the village rather than just being a suburban dormitory for other parts of Bradford and Leeds.

If you have a specific query about the development of the neighbourhood plan or wish to make contact about issues in the plan, please contact the Parish Clerk – clerk@wilsdenparishcouncil.gov.uk
